Workplace design is going through radical transformations. Residential influences permeate contemporary office design and co-working spaces. Interior Design Magazine sheds light on three products from Andreu World that are playing a role in this design transformation.
Andreu World, a purveyor of stylish furnishings for over 60 years, is one of the leading brands in this new paradigm, regularly coming out with new products that reflect an innate understanding of what the future of workplace design will look like. “The office has become a space in which one lives and coexists—a place that is transformed according to the needs of its occupants throughout the workday,” explains Jesús Llinares, CEO. “It is more and more common today for furniture to transcend the idea of a single use or environment.”
Spanish designer Patricia Urquiola introduced the Nuez collection, winner of a Red Dot Award and Interior Design HiP Award, as a group of chairs and stools that serve the sitter. “A chair has a personality and engenders emotional relationships with its users and owners,” Urquiola says. She designed the piece with a graceful back made of ribbed thermopolymer and ample padding. Both the stool and the dining chair are perfect crossover options, equally at home in a boardroom, restaurant, or home.
This Red Dot Award-winning lounge chair by Piergiorgio Cazzaniga features a unique ergonomic shape ideal for seated work in office spaces. It is also highly customizable. The Capri lounge offers several vibrant and on-trend upholstery options, armed or armless options, and an aluminum or steel base finish.
The Dado sofa represents the first collaboration between Andreu World and Swiss designer Alfredo Häberli. This modular sofa won the Best of NeoCon 2018 Silver award and a HiP Award for its clever use of modularity and subtle design details. Dado’s essential pieces can be combined in various configurations to integrate effortlessly into public, work, or private spaces.

New fabrics inspired by the design philosophy and culture of Japan
New York, NY—KnollTextiles is pleased to launch Azuma, a textile collection inspired by the balance and harmony found in Japanese design philosophy and culture. The name Azuma means 'East.' Creative Director, Dorothy Cosonas and the design team studied dozens of books researching traditional Japanese motifs, fashion, costuming and arts resulting in 4 upholstery fabrics, Kabuki, Sashiko, Zen Wave and Kaya, that celebrate bold graphic forms and simple subtle beauty.
Supporting the Japanese design concept are 4 vertical products. Noren is the next generation of acoustic sheer with sound absorbing properties. Stencil is an embossed type II vinyl wallcovering while Calm is specialty wallcovering with wool content. Finally, Edo addresses the trend for a heathered natural looking material on the wall for wrapped panel application.
The products of Azuma blend together beautifully in this cohesive and inspired collection.
For their selection of Products of the Year 2017, Morpholio chose an anti-iconic collection to reflect what we see emerging in culture and the moods of communities and people across the globe. The "anti-iconic" evokes unity and nature.
"These products defy the notion of icon in space and seek to merge people with their surroundings in new ways...and, as always, we are interested in designs that use technology and forward thinking to address impact on the environment,” says Anna Kenoff, Morpholio Co-Creator.
Morpholio Board tracked trends amongst its growing community of professional and non-professional interior designers. The winners distinguished themselves from thousands of products. - See more at: https://carnegiefabrics.com/learn/cat/news/post/morpholio-products-of-the-year/#sthash.cHE3W8lN.dpuf
